In this online contemplative journey, we move into deep time, communing deeply with the Earth and opening to hear her story; from her birth to the present day - a journey of 4.6 billion years. Each week, through combining theory with the poetic imagination (using the framework of Heart Sense), we move through 1.5 billion years of the Earth's story in deep contemplation, travelling Earth's timeline. As we journey with the Earth, and hear her miraculous story, we will expand our hearts to contemplate how this deep relating with our precious Earth may transform us; as we come to experience and understand how we are each made of Earth's flesh, opening our awareness to hear an ancient heart that beats inside all of life.

Week one: Introduction and Earth's formative years (4.6 billion years - 3 billion years)
Week two: Earth gives birth to life (3 billion years - 1.5 billion years)
Week three: Complex life, death, rebirth and the Anthropocene (1.5 billion years - present day)
Week four: Grounding and reflections

This imaginal journey has been inspired by the Deep Time Walk that Dr Stephan Harding runs regularly at the Schumacher College, UK. As an alumnus of the MSc Holistic Science (a programme that Dr Harding directed), and having directly experienced the transformative learning of the Deep Time Walk, Louise has developed this 4-week contemplative journey in consultation with Stephan, and with the approval of the Deep Time Walk Project. 10% of all bookings taken go directly to the Deep Time Walk Project.

Attendance/Recording:
It is preferable, for the maximum learning experience - specifically in relation to the sharing spaces - to attend each week 'live'. However, for those unable to attend live, there will be a recording available after the session has taken place. The recording will be of all contemplation exercises and theory. Please note that personal sharing spaces will not be recorded to respect the sacred space of those who are sharing within the live group setting.

Course, workshop, lecture cancellation, postpone & refund policy

One-off online courses, workshops, gatherings and lectures (live or online)

You will be entitled to a full refund up to 48 hours before the one-off online course, workshop, lecture begins. If we have posted any study material to you, you should return them to us before the refund. Once a course, workshop or lecture has started, is in progress, or has taken place, we cannot grant a refund.

In the event that Heart Sense Research Institute is unable to deliver the one-off online course, workshop, lecture, we will reschedule the event and offer you the opportunity to transfer your booking to the new date. Should this not be acceptable, we will offer you the opportunity to transfer your booking to another course, workshop, or lecture of the same value. If you do not wish to attend another date or event, we will refund your booking in full.

Online Courses, workshops and lectures (Distance Learning)

Under this refund policy you may cancel your purchase of the course within the period of 14 calendar days (cancellation period) from the date on which the contract of purchase is concluded. Please note that the right to cancel will not apply after we have issued your login details for online study platform (i.e., this could occur prior to receiving your cancellation request to us).

If you choose to cancel within the valid period, you will receive a refund of the price within 30 days if you are eligible for refunds – minus administrative costs.

If we posted any study material to you, you should return them to us before we issue the refund.

Please allow up to 2 working days to receive your online training details (Login details). 

Please note, once a course has been redeemed (commenced), we cannot grant a refund.

 

Classroom Course (In house course)

By completing your registration for a course and making a payment of full or instalment fee, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

You have the right to cancel your booking with the following terms:

1.1 Any Classroom course cancelled after registration – admin fee of 25% of the course price applies (which will not be refunded), remaining deposit will be refunded. You need to request the course cancellation 5 working days before the course starting date.

1.2 You are not eligible for any refund if you made a request for course cancellation less than 5 working days before the course starting date.

1.3 The Heart Sense Research Institute reserves the right to cancel a course if number of delegates have not reached the minimum required to run the course effectively. The organisation also reserves the right to cancel in the event of an unforeseen circumstance which disables a safe training environment. In the event of a cancellation, the Heart Sense Research Institute will either arrange for an alternative course date or offer a full refund of the fee paid.

 

Course Postpone

Classroom Courses (In house courses);

If you need to postpone your course, you need to make a request 5 working days before the course starting date. You will not be able to make a request to postpone a course less than 5 working days before the course starting date.

Refund Procedure

Please note that payment can take up to 30 days to process from the point of agreement of the refund.
